What if you could step into a moment from your past or glimpse into your future? Time travel has fascinated us for centuries, filling books and movies with endless possibilities. But what if I told you that, in some ways, we already experience time travel—through memories, nostalgia, and the power of being present?
Is it real or not?
The possibility of traveling to the past or the future—if you had the choice, which one would you pick? Would you be brave enough to see what awaits you and be able to influence, prepare, or change everything what is coming your way and be fully ready? Just like some techniques from my free eBook.
Or would you prefer to step back in time, reliving beautiful memories or adjusting moments you would have had handled differently? Would you return to the days that stuck in your memory, or perhaps to those moments that you keep replaying in your mind?

You are not alone!
Many times, I have wished to relive certain days because they were so memorable. Or perhaps just to compare the past with the present. To have a chance to meet those who are no longer with us and see them with a different, more mature perspective.
Even though actual time travel isn’t possible, our memories have the power to take us back. Nostalgia can transport us to the past, allowing us to relive emotions, places, and moments as if no time has passed.
However, for this kind of time travel, there’s one condition—you have to experience the distance. In my case, it comes from living abroad.

Every summer, I return to my beloved home country. My whole family lives there—my friends, my support system, my six walls, my everything. It’s the foundation of my inner light—the people who were always there for me, even though I know they won’t be there forever.
Each time I return to the place where „time stood still“—the Czech Republic, where I was born and grew up—I’m flooded with memories and subtle details that shaped me. There, life feels different.
When I ride public transportation, we use it a lot in my country, I often see familiar faces from my childhood or school. Even if we never spoke, I recognize them. They’re the same faces I used to know. They’ve aged, yet they still live there.
Unlike in the U.S., where families frequently move, people in the Czech Republic often remain in the town where they were born, maintaining lifelong relationships and creating strong bonds that last for generations. These connections are deeply grounding.
And then, there are the little things.
In the early mornings, through my open window, I hear the sound of women’s high heels clicking on the pavement as they head to work. Many people start their workdays early. It makes me feel fortunate that I can stay in bed a little longer.
On weekends, I hear partygoers returning home, their voices echoing through the streets. Bars close at dawn, until the last customer leaves. Let‘ s not forget the cat’s fights at the streets.
The smells, the rhythms, the unchanged routines. Each small detail brings me back—not just to a place, but to a feeling.
In those moments, I feel safe. Cared for. Like the world hasn’t spun too fast after all. Is it selfish to want that? Maybe. But I’ve learned to say: „I deserve to feel this way.“
And so do you!
Would you like to learn how to show that same care to yourself?
Self-kindness means treating yourself with the same patience, compassion, and encouragement you’d offer a loved one. It’s recognizing your needs. Letting go of harsh self-judgment. Making space for your emotions without shame.
When we practice self-kindness, we begin to build confidence and inner peace from the inside out. We stop trying to „fix“ ourselves—and start learning how to support and appreciate who we already are.
As a life coach, I help people reconnect with themselves—through mindfulness, self-awareness, and gentle guidance.
